On December 4th, it’s our Christmas Party at Rose Al-Banna’s house. We will have a catered lunch, with a new caterer. The cost of the event is $45.00, cash or check. The food will include Chicken or Salmon with vegetables. Dessert and Prosecco can be donated. If you wish to participate in the gift exchange, the gifts should be needlepoint related. There will be a sign-up sheet available at the October and November Meetings.
On November 6th, it’s Show Time: Bring your Stockings, Santas, angels, menorahs, dreidels and tallis bags for a really Big Show. If you have one of these canvases and need help with stitches, we have some volunteers that are happy to share their expertise. We will have breakfast from 9:30-10:30, then have a short business meeting. Then the fun begins with show and tell, a few door prizes then stitching time.
Please join us at Rose Al-Banna’s spooky house for a Halloween Sitch-In! See the newsletter for RSVP directions and details.
On October 2nd, we will learn about the binding stitch. Binding is used for belts, rugs and anything that is made of separate parts and you put together. It is a finishing stitch. In the past we made a folding ort box. The pieces had binding stitch around and then you stitched the pieces together. If people would like to try, bring a needle and scissors.
Sue Ella Allen will talk about overdyed threads.
Kathy Philips talks about knots.
Sue Ella Allen will demonstrate why we have a doodle canvas and how to use it. See newsletter for details.

Anticipating fewer members this month (the dates coincide with ANG Seminar), we are taking the monthly meeting on the road! Please plan to join us at The Toasted Yolk Café – 8408 Katy Freeway, Suite 100, Houston, 77024. After the meeting, feel free to order a lunch (at your expense), and enjoy each other’s company while we stitch.
