“Fauxbergé” Starry Sky Egg

A Needlepoint Ornament Inspired by Fabergé

November 17, 2026 Inspired by an actual Fabergẻ egg, this ornament’s silver settings are worked with silver braid in Jessica stitches of various shapes. The background is covered with glitzy blue rayon/metallic ribbon. The diamond bands are created out of embellishment woven braid. Large flower-shaped foil backed Swarovski crystals are used for the large diamonds in the stars, and beads and bicone-shaped Swarovski crystals are used for the diamonds in the arms of the stars. Ornament measures 4 ½ x 3 ½ before finishing. Kit Fee $70 Kit includes all threads, metallic braids, ribbons, beads, various needles, 8 x 10 18count canvas, and instructions needed to complete the project. Students supply 8 x 10 stretcher bars and tacks, frame support, precise metal scissors for cutting metal, scissors for cutting thread, laying tool, and the usual stitching supplies, including battery-operated light and magnification as needed.
